New Delhi: Kunal Kemmu’s Vibe witnessed a noticeable jump in its box-office earnings on Sunday, giving the film some momentum after a slow start. The action-comedy
thriller recorded better numbers on Day 3, while Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Daayra also showed growth during its opening weekend.
Vibe box office collection Day 3
Vibe collected around Rs 3 crore on Sunday, according to the figures provided. The film registered a 9.1% rise compared with its Day 2 earnings. With this, its India net collection has reached Rs 7.45 crore after three days.
The Sunday growth comes as a positive sign for the film, which had a relatively quiet opening. After a slow beginning, Vibe managed to improve its collections through the weekend and has now crossed the Rs 7 crore mark in India.
The real test for the Kunal Kemmu directorial will come with the first weekday, when films usually see a drop in theatrical collections.
Daayra box office collection
Meanwhile, Daayra, starring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran, also witnessed an improvement in its box-office performance over the weekend. Directed by Meghna Gulzar, the crime thriller arrived in theatres on September 18.
The film brings Kareena and Prithviraj together in a crime drama and has generated interest because of its cast and Gulzar’s direction.

For Vibe, Kemmu has taken on several responsibilities. He has directed, written and produced the film, apart from playing one of the lead characters. The cast also includes Preity Zinta, Sparsh Shrivastava and Vanshika Dhir.
The film marks Kemmu’s first project as a producer, while Vanshika Dhir makes her acting debut with it.
Vibe revolves around two close friends whose routine lives are suddenly thrown into chaos. What starts as an ordinary situation soon turns into a series of unexpected events, forcing them to depend on each other and their survival instincts.
