New Delhi: Shreyanka Patil, Bharti Fulmali delivered match-winning performances as India defeated West Indies by 26 runs in the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026
warm-up match at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff on Monday, June 8. Chasing the 180-run target, the West Indies got off to a slow start as their openers scored run-a-ball, struggling against the Indian spinners.
Shemaine Campbelle retired in the ninth over, but they were already far behind the required run rate to make a comeback in the match. Deandra Dottin showed some resistance and scored 49 runs off 44 balls, but the rest of the batters struggled to cope with the Indian spinners.
Qiana Joseph, Jahzara Claxton, Aaliyah Alleyne and Chinelle Henry failed to make big contributions as the West Indies only managed to score 153/8 in 20 overs. For India, Shreyanka Patil picked up 4 wickets, while Radha Yadav bowled well to take three wickets, keeping the Windies batters completely quiet and sealing a dominating win in the first warm-up match.
