Chennai: Union Minister and former BJP National President J.P. Nadda released the party’s election manifesto for the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, titled
“Lotus Promises 2026: Ushering in a New Era.” The manifesto was received by BJP State President Nainar Nagendran, former State President Tamilisai Soundararajan, and K. Annamalai, among others.
BJP manifesto for Tamil Nadu election 2026: Highlights
The BJP election manifesto includes a monthly financial assistance of ₹2,000 for every female head of a household, as well as a one-time grant of ₹10,000 for every family. The manifesto also promises an additional State contribution of ₹3,000 to the PM-KISAN scheme, bringing the total benefit to farmers to ₹9,000. Financial assistance of ₹50,000 will be provided to small farmers.
The manifesto includes the provision of three free LPG cylinders per year, to be distributed during the festivals of Pongal, Tamil New Year, and Diwali.
The BJP has promised enhanced women’s safety measures, including the implementation of “Zero FIR,” CCTV surveillance across the state, and the establishment of Fast Track Courts to expedite cases related to crimes against women.
The manifesto pledges support for Women’s Self-Help Groups and MSMEs, offering interest-free loans of up to ₹50 lakhs to encourage entrepreneurship and economic empowerment.
Thiruparankundram Deepam
The BJP manifesto specifically mentions Thiruparankundram, promising to revive the ancient lamp-lighting tradition at the hilltop. The party has pledged to ensure the lighting of the deepam at the temple.
The manifesto also declares Thaipusam as a State Festival and sets the specific goal of creating a “Ganja-free State” through efforts to eradicate narcotics.
The manifesto release event was held in Chennai, with senior BJP leaders in attendance.
