New Delhi: Flight operations at Mumbai airport will remain suspended for six hours from 11 am to 5 pm on May 7. The scheduled closure comes in the wake
of pre-monsoon maintenance work.
Both the primary runway 09/27 and the secondary runway 14/32 at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) will remain closed during this period.
“Please note that on 07 May 2026, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA), Mumbai, has a scheduled closure of both runways for 6 hours, from 11:00 hrs to 17:00 hrs, for intensive pre-monsoon maintenance. As a result, many of our to/from flights stand cancelled,” reads a message from the airport authorities.
“Kindly request you to check the flight schedule in advance before planning cargo movements to avoid any inconvenience,” CSMIA added.
The Mumbai Airport administration has announced that both of Mumbai’s runways will remain closed from 11 am to 5 pm on May 7 for pre-monsoon maintenance. According to the airport management, no flights will take off or land during this period.
The administration states that flight schedules have been modified in advance, in coordination with the airlines, to ensure minimal inconvenience to passengers. It said that authorities had coordinated this closure with airlines and aviation authorities six months in advance.
