New Delhi: Jeep India has unveiled the Compass Sport diesel-automatic trims at Rs 21.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The entry-level variant now gets the 9-speed
automatic gearbox to the entry-level Sport trim of the Compass for the first time. This puts it as the most affordable automatic version of the SUV in India. Deliveries of the Compass Sport AT will start from the second week of November 2026.
Mechanically, the Compass Sport AT is unchanged. It has Jeep’s familiar 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine, making 170hp and 350Nm of torque. The engine is mated with a 9-speed automatic transmission that sends power to the front wheels. Jeep has even retained the Frequency Selective Damping (FSD) suspension setup for this trim.
The rest of the line-up continues to offer both manual and automatic gearboxes, along with 2WD and 4WD drivetrains.
Jeep Compass Sport AT: Exterior and interior updates
The accessories package comes with a new Swoosh decal running along the SUV’s shoulder line and rear pillars. It also gets mud flaps, giving the Compass some additional protection against road debris. The Sport AT carries the standard variant’s LED headlamps with daytime running lights, chrome window surrounds and 17-inch silver-finished alloy wheels.
Other exterior features include black outside rearview mirrors with integrated indicators, a roof-mounted spoiler and a shark-fin antenna.
Compass Sport AT gets many more features over the standard manual version
On the inside, the Compass Sport AT features a predominantly dark cabin with grey fabric inserts across the dashboard and door panels. The seats receive fabric upholstery with contrasting blue stitching. The optional package adds ambient lighting and a dashcam, along with all-weather floor mats.
The SUV gets an 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It also gets a four-speaker audio system and a 3.5-inch digital instrument display. Compared to the manual Sport trim, the automatic additionally offers six airbags, cruise control and auto hold. Other safety features include electronic stability control, traction control, hill-start assist, ISOFIX child-seat mounts, tyre-pressure monitoring, an electronic parking brake and a reversing camera with rear parking sensors.
The Compass has been here for a while with little updates, despite a facelift option available abroad. With Tata Motors set to share the ARGOS platform with the brand, the Compass could get the much-awaited upgrades.
