New Delhi: Rain, thunderstorms and heavy showers are likely across several parts of India on Tuesday, September 29, with weather activity expected in northern,
northeastern, eastern, western and southern regions.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rainfall warning for parts of Uttarakhand, South Interior Karnataka and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Several other states are also likely to experience thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds.
The Southwest Monsoon has remained active over southern and northeastern parts of the country due to prevailing weather systems. Tamil Nadu, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan and parts of the Northeast are among the regions that could witness thunderstorms and gusty winds.
Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, Ghaziabad weather
According to the IMD, isolated rainfall is possible over parts of Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh and Punjab on Tuesday.
Mostly dry conditions are expected across these areas from Wednesday through October 3. Similar weather conditions are likely in parts of the National Capital Region, including Noida, Gurugram and Ghaziabad.
Uttar Pradesh weather
After several days of rainfall, monsoon activity in Uttar Pradesh is expected to gradually ease from Wednesday.
The weather department has issued no heavy rainfall warning for either eastern or western Uttar Pradesh for September 29. Several districts witnessed flooding and waterlogging following heavy showers in recent days.
Maharashtra weather
Several parts of Madhya Maharashtra, including Pune, Nashik, Kolhapur, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Ahilyanagar, Solapur, Satara, Sangli, Jalgaon, Dhule and Nandurbar, may receive scattered rainfall accompanied by gusty winds.
Parts of Marathwada, including Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna, Beed, Dharashiv, Nanded, Latur, Parbhani and Hingoli, may experience gusty winds of 30–40 kmph.
Konkan, Goa weather
Isolated rain and thunderstorms are possible across several parts of Konkan and Goa as monsoon activity continues in the region.
Northeast weather
Assam and Meghalaya are likely to receive heavy rainfall on Tuesday, with thunderstorms and gusty winds also possible.
Similar weather conditions have been forecast for Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.
South India weather
Several parts of Karnataka, particularly South Interior Karnataka, are likely to receive isolated heavy showers. Thunderstorms and gusty winds are also possible in the region.
The IMD has forecast heavy rainfall in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal, along with thunderstorms and lightning.
Kerala and Mahe are also expected to experience continued monsoon activity.
Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat weather
Madhya Pradesh may witness isolated thunderstorms and gusty winds on September 29, with lightning also possible in several areas.
Rainfall is expected to continue at varying intervals across parts of Chhattisgarh through October 3.
Similar weather conditions are also likely in parts of Gujarat as monsoon activity continues.
