New Delhi: TVS Motor Company’s RTX 300 has been named the best motorcycle of 2025 at the Auto9 Awards. The announcement was made during the award ceremony
by Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari. The win highlights TVS’s steady push into the premium motorcycle segment in India.
Vikkas Sikka, General Manager of Marketing (Premium Business) at TVS Motor Company, received the award on behalf of TVS. The RTX 300 combines touring capability with everyday practicality, making it ideal for both long-distance riding and daily use. Its design and positioning as an adventure-focused motorcycle that remains practical for everyday riding played an important role in its selection.
TVS RTX 300: Engine and Powertrain
The RTX 300 is built around TVS’s new RT-XD4 engine platform, which has been developed in-house using the company’s experience from racing and rally programmes. It uses a 299.1 cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder DOHC engine. The motor produces 36 PS at 9,000 rpm and 28.5 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm. Power is sent to the rear wheel through a six-speed gearbox, along with an assist-and-slipper clutch.
TVS RTX 300: Features
In terms of features, the motorcycle offers four riding modes: Urban, Rain, Tour and Rally. These modes adjust traction control, ABS behaviour and throttle response depending on riding conditions. Other features include cruise control, a tyre pressure monitoring system and a 5-inch TFT screen with Bluetooth support and map mirroring.
TVS says the RTX 300 has rally-inspired ergonomics with balanced weight distribution and a low seat height. The riding position has been designed to suit riders of different heights, making it comfortable for long journeys as well as light off-road riding.
