New Delhi: A massive fire was reported from East Delhi’s Vivek Vihar area on Sunday morning. The blaze started early in the morning and the fire brigade
was informed immediately. Initial reports said that the fire started due to a blast in the AC.
The fire was reported from building number B-13 and it initially engulfed the second floor. It then spread to other floors in the building said the police.
4 dead, 12 injured in fire: Delhi Police
Reports said that 4 people have died in the fire, while around 12 are injured. The number of deaths might rise in future, said the police. The Delhi Fire Service said that they got a call regarding a fire at a house in Vivek Vihar at around 3:48 am.
The fire department said that immediately they rushed their personnel and 14 fire tenders to the location. The fire was brought under control by 6:25 am, they added. As of now they are carrying out a search operation in the building, to look for survivors.
So far there is no information regarding what caused the blaze. The 4-storey building which caught fire is a private residence.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) for Shahdara District, Rajendra Prasad Meena, while talking to media persons said, “Fire broke out in a house in a four-storey building in Vivek Vihar, with casualties on the second floor. So far, 3-4 bodies have been found, and the search for the remaining remains is ongoing. We’re still searching. We’ll let you know once the search is complete.”
He refused to elaborate upon what might have caused the blaze. Locals gathered outside the house, early in the morning after they saw fire tenders stationed outside. Many looked concerned about the residents of the building.
