New Delhi: Looking to travel to Himachal Pradesh by car? Well, you have to shell out more now as the state government has hiked the entry fees of vehicles
from other states. Notably, local vehicles have been exempted from this entry fee.
Entry fee hiked in Himachal
The entry fee of several categories of vehicles from other states have been increased from Rs 30 to Rs 230. The fee for private cars, jeeps, vans and light motor vehicles has been raised from Rs 70 to Rs 170. The fee for 12+1 seater passenger vehicles has been increased from Rs 110 to Rs 170. According to reports, the government in Himachal Pradesh has taken the step to boost the state’s finances.
The entry fee for mini buses with 32 seats has been increased from Rs 180 to Rs 320, while that of commercial buses have been almost doubled from the earlier Rs 320 to Rs 600. For construction machinery, the entry fee has been increased from Rs 570 to 800, and the fee for large goods vehicles is now Rs 720 from Rs 900, while tractors will pay Rs 100 instead of Rs 70. However, the rate for double-axle bus-trucks remains Rs 570.

Germany (111,685) and the United Kingdom (93,989) round out the top five.
