New Delhi: The makers of the much-awaited epic Ramayana are gearing up to introduce the film to audiences worldwide, with Sony Pictures set to unveil its
international trailer tomorrow.
The excitement surrounding Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana continues to grow as producer Namit Malhotra, filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari and actor Yash have announced the beginning of the film’s global promotional campaign in association with Sony Pictures.
The announcement was made through a joint Instagram post, highlighting the team’s ambition to bring the celebrated Indian epic to viewers across international markets. With the campaign preparing to reach audiences unfamiliar with the story, the makers aim to position Ramayana as a major global cinematic event.
Sharing their excitement, the team reflected on their long-standing dream of presenting one of India’s most significant cultural narratives to the world. They described the international campaign as an important milestone in that journey and expressed pride in seeing an Indian story receive such a large-scale worldwide platform.
The announcement also celebrated the film’s Indian roots, carrying the message, “Our truth. Our history. From India, to the world.”
Interestingly, the makers chose a multilingual approach for the announcement. The Instagram carousel features six slides, beginning with English and followed by Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. The initiative reflects the team’s efforts to connect with audiences across linguistic and geographical boundaries.
Ramayana brings together an ensemble of prominent actors, with Ranbir Kapoor portraying Lord Rama and Sai Pallavi playing Sita. Yash will be seen as Ravana, while Sunny Deol takes on the role of Hanuman and Ravi Dubey portrays Lakshman.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the two-part mythological spectacle is produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios alongside eight-time Academy Award-winning visual effects company DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations.
The first instalment is scheduled to arrive in cinemas worldwide on November 5, 2026, while the second chapter is planned for Diwali 2027. The film will be released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam in India, with IMAX screenings also planned.
Sony Pictures will oversee international distribution outside India, while Dharma Productions will handle distribution in Hindi-speaking territories.
With its international promotional campaign now underway and the global trailer launch approaching, Ramayana is preparing to take its ambitious retelling of the ancient epic beyond Indian shores.
