New Delhi: Tata Motors has unveiled the updated Tiago EV with a starting price of Rs 6.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The EV hatchback comes with a sharper design,
a very feature-rich cabin and improved safety tech to its most affordable electric hatchback.
The refreshed Tiago EV will continue to compete with the likes of the MG Comet EV and Citroen eC3, while retaining its dual battery pack setup. The brand has added quite a few safety features, including six airbags, a blind-spot monitor and the lot.
Tata Tiago EV facelift exterior and interior design
Visually, the facelifted Tiago EV comes with a redesigned front fascia, getting thin LED headlamps, brow-shaped LED DRLs and a body-coloured closed grille that emphasises its EV identity. Tata has even revised the bumpers, with faux air vents at the edges, and added new 15-inch wheel designs.

At the back, the electric hatchback gets connected LED taillamps, and the bumper gets redesigned as well. Exterior styling elements include blacked-out roof treatment, shark-fin antenna and chrome-finished door handles. In terms of exterior colours, the brand is now offering Tiago EV in six colours, which are Dehradun Dew, Sobo Surge, Pangong Pulse, Matheran Monsoon, Pure Grey and Pristine White.
Step inside, and even the cabin has undergone a comprehensive overhaul with a new dual-tone dashboard layout and upgraded electronics architecture. The Tiago EV now comes with a free-standing 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system along with a partially digital TFT instrument cluster that also supports Bluetooth functionality.
Tata further noted that they had updated the Tiago EV’s E&E architecture, which includes 40 connected car features, along with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, automatic climate control, cruise control, new rear AC vents, auto-fold ORVMs, cooled glovebox, height-adjustable driver’s seat, 4 speakers and a new rotary drive selector.
Tiago EV also comes with new door pads, a front centre armrest, new grey fabric upholstery and a redesigned centre console with two wireless charging pads finished in gloss black. The two-spoke steering has been carried forward from the previous generation; it gets the ‘Tata.ev’ logo.
In terms of safety equipment, the Tiago EV now comes with six airbags as standard. Other additions include a 360-degree camera, blind-view monitor, ESP with traction control, hill-hold assist, TPMS, torque vectoring by braking, Automatic headlamps, follow-me-home headlamps and rain-sensing wipers. Tata claims it has also improved the structural rigidity of the hatchback for enhanced crash protection.
Tata Tiago EV facelift powertrain
Mechanically, the Tiago EV continues with the existing 19.2kWh and 24kWh battery pack options. The smaller battery version makes 62hp and 110Nm of torque, while the bigger pack makes 75hp and 114 Nm. Tata claims a MIDC-certified range of 226km for the smaller battery and 285km for the bigger version.
The brand also states that charging speeds have improved by 40 per cent, with EV now capable of replenishing 100km of range in just 18 minutes. With a 30kW DC fast charger, both battery trims can charge from 10 to 80 per cent in 35 minutes.
The updated Tiago EV also gets four-level regenerative braking, City and Sport drive modes, and a claimed 0-60kph sprint in 5.7 seconds for the 24kWh variant. Tata Motors is also offering a lifetime, unlimited-kilometre warranty on the 24 kWh version for the first owner, while the smaller-battery version continues with an 8-year/1.6 lakh km warranty.
