New Delhi: Emraan Hashmi returned as Shivam Pandit nearly two decades after Awarapan with its sequel, which reached cinemas on August 14, 2026. Following
its Independence Day weekend release and theatrical run, attention has now shifted towards when viewers will be able to stream Awarapan 2 online.
While its digital destination is Amazon Prime Video, an official date for its regular streaming premiere has not been announced yet. However, viewers who do not want to wait for the subscription release can already watch the film digitally by renting it.
Awarapan 2 available on rent for Rs 349
Awarapan 2 is currently listed on Amazon Prime Video as available to rent for Rs 349. This is separate from its eventual availability to Prime subscribers as part of the platform’s streaming catalogue.
Meanwhile, several social media posts have claimed that the Emraan Hashmi-starrer will begin streaming on Prime Video on October 9, 2026. However, neither the makers nor the streaming platform has confirmed October 9 as the official OTT premiere date.
Reports have also previously suggested a possible digital release window between September 25 and October 9. With no official announcement yet, these dates remain speculative.

About Awarapan 2
Awarapan 2 brings Emraan Hashmi back as Shivam Pandit, whose life has taken a different course following the events of the 2007 film. Shivam is now living as a wanderer and caring for his adopted daughter, Aaliyah.
His circumstances change after Aaliyah and several other children are kidnapped. The search leads Shivam to Bangkok, where he infiltrates a child-trafficking operation controlled by drug lord Zorawar.
During his mission, he encounters Zara, portrayed by Disha Patani. She is Zorawar’s sister and becomes part of Shivam’s journey as he attempts to save Aaliyah and the other abducted children while confronting the dangerous world he had left behind.
Awarapan 2 cast and crew
Apart from Emraan Hashmi and Disha Patani, Awarapan 2 stars Shabana Azmi and Puran Gabbi in prominent roles. The cast also includes Suvinder Vicky, Vijayant Kohli, Aniruddh Rawal, Atul Kumar, Rukhsar Rehman, Jukgrid Kamdee, Barun Chanda and Richa Jain.
Nitin Kakkar has helmed the sequel, with Bilal Siddiqui and Sanjay Masoom contributing to the writing and screenplay. Vishnu Rao has handled cinematography, while Devendra Murdeshwar is responsible for editing.
The film’s music features compositions by Mithoon, Amaal Mallik, Jeet Gannguli, Akhil Sachdeva and Wasif Ahmad.
Awarapan 2 box office collection
Awarapan 2 registered a strong opening at the box office, reportedly collecting Rs 22 crore on August 14. Business rose to Rs 33.75 crore on Saturday before the film earned another Rs 26 crore on Sunday.
Following its opening weekend, the sequel collected Rs 9.25 crore on Monday and Rs 9.75 crore on Tuesday.
The sequel arrived 19 years after the original Awarapan, which was released in 2007. While the first film did not emerge as a major theatrical success during its initial run, it subsequently developed a sizeable following, with its music and story contributing to its popularity over the years.
