New Delhi: Royal Enfield has added a slip and assist clutch to another one of its 350cc motorcycles. This time, the update comes to the Goan Classic 350.
With this change, the bike now costs between Rs 2.20 lakh and Rs 2.23 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), which is about Rs 2,000 more than before.
Before this update, the Goan Classic was already the most expensive model in Royal Enfield’s 350cc range. Prices earlier ranged from Rs 2.18 lakh for single-tone colours to Rs 2.21 lakh for dual-tone options. Despite the higher pricing, the addition of the slip and assist clutch is a useful upgrade.
RE Goan Classic 350: Upgrades
Along with the new clutch, Royal Enfield has also added a USB Type-C charging port. It is placed under the clutch lever and is not easily visible. This charging setup is the same one seen earlier on the updated Hunter 350. After this update, the Classic 350 and Bullet 350 are now the only models in Royal Enfield’s 350cc range that do not get a slip and assist clutch.
Other than these two additions, nothing else has changed on the Goan Classic 350. It continues to use the same 349 cc, single-cylinder, long-stroke engine. The motor produces 20.2 hp and 27 Nm of torque, just like before. The frame, suspension, and braking setup also remain the same.
How Goan Classic 350 is different for other RE bikes
The Goan Classic 350 stands out in Royal Enfield’s lineup due to its bobber-style design and bright colour options. It is not aimed at mass buyers and remains a niche product. The chassis feels stable, and the riding position is comfortable, especially when compared to rivals like the Jawa 42 Bobber. From experience with other Royal Enfield models like the Meteor 350 and Hunter 350, this clutch system noticeably reduces clutch lever effort. This makes riding in slow traffic easier and less tiring.
