New Delhi: Dashing Indian opener Ishan Kishan has stormed into the top 10 of the latest ICC rankings released on Wednesday. After his match-winning knock
of 77 runs in 40 balls against Pakistan in the group clash in T20 World Cup 2026, Ishan jumped to eighth spot in the rankings with 732 rating points after a blistering knock in the contest against the arch-rivals.
He adds to the list of the Indian batters in top 10 as the southpaw has become the fourth Indian after Abhishek Sharma, Tilak Varma and skipper Suryakumar Yadav to feature. On way to the eighth spot, Ishan pipped New Zealand’s Tim Seifert and Australia’s Travis Head.
Indian batters shine in rankings
Meanwhile, swashbuckling Indian opener Abhishek Sharma has maintained the top spot in the rankings with 891 rating points and is 83 points ahead of the England player Phil Salt, who is placed second in the rankings. Abhishek, though has not been in the best of the forms in the marquee event as he suffered two ducks in the and missed the encounter against Namibia due to illness. Meanwhile, the other two Indian batters, Tilak and Suryakumar are placed on number four and number six spots respectively.
On the other hand, Pakistan’s Sahibzada Farhan has dropped to fifth place after bagging a duck against India. Among other batters to jump in the rankings are Sri Lanka’s Pathum Nissanka, who has jumped to third place after his sensational century against Australia.
Saim Ayub regains top spot
Pakistan all-rounder Saim Ayub has regained his top spot in the T20I all-rounder rankings, even as India’s Hardik Pandya has retained his third position. Zimbabwe skipper Sikandar Raza has been dethroned from top position but is only six rating points behind Ayub. In the bowlers list, Zimbabwe’s Brad Evans has jumped 10 spots and is in fifth place in the rankings with the career-best ratings of 680 points.
