New Delhi: Mahindra & Mahindra is reportedly preparing an updated version of the Mahindra Scorpio N. The facelift is expected to focus mainly on technology
and feature upgrades inside the cabin, while the mechanical setup is likely to remain mostly unchanged.
The Scorpio N continues to be one of the well-known ladder-frame SUVs in its category. With more rivals entering the segment, updates to the model’s technology and interior equipment could help keep it relevant for buyers.
Interior tech likely to get changes
Current Scorpio N interior
The upcoming version of the Mahindra Scorpio N could bring a few updates inside the cabin. One of the areas that may change is the infotainment system. The current SUV already has a large touchscreen, but reports indicate that the refreshed model might come with a bigger display.
Another possible change could be the instrument cluster. Right now the SUV uses a semi-digital setup. The updated version may switch to a fully digital display, which can show navigation details, vehicle data and driver alerts more clearly.
There may also be small improvements to the connected car system. Better smartphone integration and minor changes to the infotainment interface are also being discussed.
Comfort and safety features may expand
Along with technology updates, the refreshed SUV could also receive a few new convenience and safety features. Reports suggest that Mahindra may improve driver assistance systems. Additional cameras for better visibility are also being considered.
The current model already offers several safety features such as multiple airbags and electronic stability control. With the update, the feature list could grow further as carmakers continue adding more safety equipment to newer SUVs.
Exterior changes expected to stay minimal
Most of the updates are likely for the interior, there are least chances we can see changes on the outside of the car. However, the refreshed SUV could get small styling tweaks such as revised lighting elements, an updated grille pattern and minor bumper adjustments. While the ladder-frame structure and the general styling of the Scorpio N are expected to remain largely unchanged.
Engines likely to remain the same
Under the bonnet, the SUV is expected to continue with the same 2.0 liter turbo-petrol and 2.2 liter diesel engines that are currently offered. Transmission options such as manual and automatic gearboxes are also likely to remain available. Four-wheel-drive variants may continue in select trims.
Brand has not announced an official launch timeline yet. The updated Scorpio N is expected to arrive once development and testing are completed.
