Box office report: The Indian box office has continued to witness an intense face-off between Bollywood and Hollywood, as Dhurandhar and Avatar: Fire and Ash
remain dominant in their respective lanes. While the Ranveer Singh-led spy actioner has tightened its grip domestically, James Cameron’s sci-fi epic has shown impressive stamina in India and overwhelming strength worldwide.
Released amid the Dhurandhar wave, Avatar: Fire and Ash was expected to slow the Bollywood juggernaut. That shift was not seen in India. However, a steady upward trend has still been registered.
Avatar: Fire and Ash box office collection
According to Sacnilk, Avatar: Fire and Ash witnessed a rise on its sixth day. A collection of Rs 10.25 crore was recorded on Wednesday. With this, the total India net stood at Rs 95.75 crore.
Day-wise figures indicated strong weekend traction. Rs 19 crore was earned on Day 1, followed by Rs 22.5 crore on Saturday. The highest was seen on Sunday, with Rs 25.75 crore. Collections dipped on Monday to Rs 9 crore, marginally improved to Rs 9.25 crore on Tuesday, and rose again on Day 6. English occupancy for Wednesday was reported at 26.93 per cent.
Globally, dominance has been established. As per Box Office Mojo, over USD 450 million has already been collected worldwide. While India remains competitive, overseas markets have delivered the scale expected from a James Cameron spectacle. The film was released theatrically on December 19, 2025, and follows Avatar (2009) and Avatar: The Way of Water (2023). Two more instalments have been planned for 2029 and 2031.
