Hyderabad: Former minister and BRS MLA T Harish Rao appeared before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) for questioning in the phone-tapping case. He
arrived at the Jubilee Hills Police Station, where police did not allow the lawyers accompanying Rao inside the police station.
Earlier in the day, the legislator hit out at Chief Minister Revanth Reddy over the notices issued to him in phone-tapping case. He is being questioned based on a statement given by accused media owner Aruvela Shravan Kumar Rao, reports said.
‘Revanth Reddy’s brand of diversionary politics’:
Speaking to the media at Telangana Bhavan, Harish Rao said the notices issued to him in the phone-tapping case were part of diversionary politics and that this was silly drama being played by the chief minister.
“Last night at 9 PM they issued notices and asked me to appear for questioning by 11 AM today. At that time, I was in Siddipet constituency. Even so, I reached Hyderabad overnight and now I will appear for the inquiry based on their notices. We have done nothing wrong, we are not afraid. We respect the law, we have faith in the judicial system,” he said.
Open letter to Union Minister G Kishan Reddy:
The Siddipet MLA also wrote an open letter to Union Coal Minister G Kishan Reddy and demanded an immediate CBI probe into alleged regularities in Singareni tenders.
“Kishan Reddy garu, you are the Union Coal Minister. If you are not conspiring with Revanth Reddy, immediately order a CBI inquiry without delay. I have all evidence with me to prove irregularities,” he stated.
