New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday cleared a series of welfare and development measures in his first set of decisions after shifting to
Seva Teerth, underscoring what the government described as a renewed focus on service-oriented governance.
According to an official statement, the decisions span social protection, women-led development, agriculture infrastructure and startup financing, covering farmers, women, youth and vulnerable citizens.
PM RAHAT Scheme approved
The Prime Minister has approved the launch of the PM RAHAT scheme, aimed at providing emergency medical support to accident victims across the country.
Under the scheme, accident victims will be entitled to cashless treatment of up to Rs 1.5 lakh. The initiative seeks to ensure that timely medical intervention is not denied due to financial constraints, especially in critical golden-hour situations.
Officials said the move is intended to strengthen emergency response systems and reduce preventable fatalities caused by delays in treatment.

Lakhpati Didi target doubled
The government has announced that it has crossed the milestone of 3 crore Lakhpati Didis more than a year before the original March 2027 deadline.
Building on that progress, the Prime Minister has set a new target of 6 crore Lakhpati Didis by March 2029. The revised goal effectively doubles the scale of the programme and aims to accelerate women-led income generation initiatives through self-help groups and livelihood support schemes.
The expansion is expected to further strengthen rural household incomes and promote financial independence among women.
Agriculture Infrastructure Fund outlay raised
In a major boost to the farm sector, the Prime Minister has approved doubling the outlay of the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund from Rs 1 lakh crore to Rs 2 lakh crore.
The enhanced allocation is aimed at improving post-harvest management, storage facilities, cold chains and overall value chain efficiency. Officials said the expanded fund will help reduce wastage, enhance farm gate value realisation and modernise agricultural infrastructure across states.
The decision comes as part of efforts to strengthen the agriculture ecosystem and support farmers with better market access and logistics.
Startup India Fund of Funds 2.0 cleared
To deepen support for innovation and emerging technologies, the Prime Minister has also approved the Startup India Fund of Funds 2.0 with a corpus of Rs 10,000 crore.
The new fund will focus on deep tech, early-stage ventures, advanced manufacturing and breakthrough technologies. The government said the initiative aims to energise India’s startup ecosystem and facilitate access to capital for high-growth sectors.
Officials added that the move is expected to drive innovation, create jobs and position India as a global hub for technology-led entrepreneurship.
