New Delhi: Trade analyst Komal Nahta expects Drishyam: The Final Conclusion to take a massive opening at the box office, citing the franchise’s strong
recall value and the phenomenal success of its previous two instalments.
Speaking about the film’s box-office prospects, Nahta expressed confidence in its opening-day performance, predicting a collection of over Rs 40 crore. When asked about his expectations for Day One, he said, “Rs 40 crore plus. I think it will be Rs 40 crore plus.”
Explaining his optimism, Nahta attributed the film’s potential to the immense popularity of the Drishyam franchise and its exceptional recall value among audiences.
“Oh, of course! It is such a huge franchise. And October 2! The mere mention of October 2 brings a smile to people’s faces. It is a fantastic franchise with amazing recall value,” he exclusively told News9 Digital.
The date October 2 has become synonymous with Drishyam, thanks to its iconic reference in the films. According to Nahta, this association continues to resonate strongly with audiences and adds to the franchise’s appeal.
Asked how important the third instalment is for leading man Ajay Devgn, Nahta maintained that every film is important for an actor. However, he acknowledged that the concluding chapter of a successful franchise naturally carries heightened expectations.
“Every film is important. But this is a franchise, and because it is a conclusion, you naturally want it to succeed. Drishyam 2 was such a huge hit, so the third film had better be a hit as well. You always feel that it should live up to the first two,” he explained.
With the first two films having established a strong audience connection, Drishyam: The Final Conclusion faces the challenge of matching their success while delivering a satisfying conclusion to the story.
Nahta’s ₹40 crore-plus opening-day prediction reflects his confidence in the franchise’s enduring popularity. Whether the film achieves that figure will ultimately depend on its advance bookings, audience turnout and reception upon release.
Drishyam: The Final Conclusion’s story is completely original and has got nothing to do with Mohanlal’s Drishyam 3, and it also has an additional name added to its cast, with Jaideep Ahlawat coming in after the exit of Akshaye Khanna. The other cast remains the same, which includes Shriya Saran, Ishita Dutta, Tabu, Rajat Kapoor and Mrunal Jadhav. The film releases on October 2 all over the world.
