New Delhi: In the dead of night, bullets shattered the calm outside Bollywood blockbuster director Rohit Shetty’s lavish Juhu home, sparking fears of a gangster
hit. Four men are now in custody, with cops uncovering links to the dreaded Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
No one was hurt, but the attack has Mumbai’s film world on edge—what grudge do these criminals hold against the action king? Dig inside for more information.
Rohit Shetty’s Juhu home firing details
The incident happened around 12:45 a.m. on February 1, 2026, at Rohit Shetty’s residence in Mumbai’s Juhu area. Attackers fired at least five rounds at the first floor of the nine-storey building, with one bullet breaking the glass of a gym inside the premises. Nobody was injured, and police do not know if the filmmaker was home at the time, a Mumbai Police officer told.
Security was quickly increased outside the building after Juhu Police and crime branch teams arrived at the spot. “Zonal police and crime branch teams are investigating,” the officer added.
Arrests made in Rohit Shetty’s Juhu home firing
Pune Police first detained five suspects from areas like Karve Nagar and Dhayari: Aman Marote (27), Aditya Gayaki (19), Siddharth Yenpure (20), Samarth Pomaji (18), and Swapnil Sakat (23). Sambhaji Kadam, DCP (Zone 3) of Pune Police, said the Warje Malwadi police station personnel held them initially and handed them over to Mumbai Police.
A Mumbai court later remanded four—Aman Marote, Aditya Gayaki, Siddharth Yenpure, and Samarth Pomaji—in police custody until February 5. The Anti-Extortion Cell of Mumbai’s crime branch arrested them for providing logistics like a vehicle to the shooters, officials said.
Bishnoi gang connection
Early probes point to ties with Shubham Lonkar, a Lawrence Bishnoi gang member accused in the Baba Siddique murder case. A social media post from an account named ‘Shubham Lonkar and Arzoo Bishnoi’ claimed responsibility hours after the firing, mentioning Bishnoi associates like Hari Boxer and Harman Shandu.
The Lawrence Bishnoi gang also warned “wait and watch” online, as reported by NDTV, though police are verifying the claims. Mumbai Crime Branch formed 12 teams to probe further, amid similar patterns to past gang hits.
This shocking attack on a top director raises big questions about Bollywood’s safety amid rising gang threats. Police vow a thorough probe.
