Reports indicate that the BJP has expressed views that if a strong alliance is to be formed against the DMK government, Vijay should join the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). The BJP has been severely criticizing the current DMK government, accusing it of family rule in Tamil Nadu. He stated in the interview that secret negotiations are underway between the TVK and BJP in Delhi, with the TVK expecting up to 60 seats in any alliance arrangement. According to Surya, the AIADMK leadership is reportedly ready to provide up to 40 seats. The veracity of this information remains uncertain, but if such a mega alliance were to form, it would pose a big challenge to the DMK.
Political calculations
Political circles suggest that offers have been made promising that if TVK joins the AIADMK-BJP alliance, the party will be given appropriate seats and political respect. The rationale is that if Vijay contests alone, it could benefit the DMK, whereas joining the BJP-AIADMK alliance would consolidate opposition votes.
