New Delhi: BMW Motorrad India has rolled out something special this week for sport bike fans. To celebrate crossing the 10,000-unit sales mark of its entry-level
supersport, the G 310 RR, the company has launched a Limited Edition version of the motorcycle.
The new edition is priced at ₹2.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and is available at dealerships across the country starting today. For BMW, this milestone signals how popular its smallest RR model has become among Indian riders, especially younger enthusiasts looking for a taste of the brand’s sport DNA without moving into big-bike territory.
What makes this edition different
The Limited Edition is mostly about style and exclusivity rather than big mechanical changes. It carries a full decal kit that stretches from the body panels to the wheel rims, giving the motorcycle a sharper, racier look. The highlight detail is the ‘1/310’ badging on the fuel tank, a reminder that this variant is limited in number and aimed at collectors.
Available in two colour options, Cosmic Black and Polar White, the bike has a very visible S 1000 RR-inspired presence. As someone who has seen one up close, I can say it does stand out more than the standard model, especially with the gold upside-down forks and the Champion’s Dome fairing that makes it look track-ready.
Engine and performance
Underneath the graphics, it is still the familiar single-cylinder, liquid-cooled 312 cc motor. The engine puts out 25 kW at 9,700 rpm and 27.3 Nm of torque at 7,700 rpm. Paired with a 6-speed gearbox and an anti-hopping clutch, the setup is designed to provide smooth shifts and stability even when braking hard into corners.
Riders also get four riding modes as standard – Track, Urban, Rain and Sport. These modes tweak throttle response and ABS behaviour, making the motorcycle versatile enough for wet highways, city traffic or weekend track days. On paper, it may not be the fastest bike around, but the balance of agility and rider aids makes it a strong option in the sub-500 cc sports segment.
Rider-focused details
The 310 RR Limited Edition continues with the lightweight trellis frame and aluminium swingarm setup, which keeps handling nimble. Suspension duties are managed by USD forks at the front and a preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear. Braking is handled by a two-channel ABS system with added protection against rear wheel lift, something that riders will appreciate on panic stops.
Inside the cockpit, the bike uses a 5-inch TFT display, offering clear readouts for riding stats, modes and even deceleration data. Add Michelin Pilot Street tyres and the package is built for riders who want confidence on both urban roads and twisty weekend routes.
Why this bike matters
This Limited Edition is less about new engineering and more about celebrating a milestone in India. Selling 10,000 units of a niche sport bike shows how much appetite there is for premium entry-level motorcycles. For BMW, it cements its position in the competitive 300–400 cc segment, where rivals like KTM RC 390 and TVS Apache RR 310 continue to attract younger riders.
