Kolkata: Gold and silver prices rose in the country on August 17. The price of 24-carat gold reached Rs 155,370 per 10 grams, thereby recording a rise
of Rs 510, or 0.33% while the white silver price reached Rs 238,500 per kg, recording a rise of Rs 1,230, or 0.52%. Both precious metals are also trading higher in the domestic futures market. Both the yellow and white metal are trading higher in the international market too.
24 carat gold rate today
The price of 24-carat gold in India is Rs 15,537 per gram. 10 grams of gold is priced at Es 155,370 and 100 grams at Rs 1553,700 while one kg of gold is priced at Rs 15,537,000. One ounce of gold is priced at Rs 440,467, and one tola is priced at Rs 181,221. Gold prices have risen by Rs 510, according to rates at 9:25 am.
Rise in silver price
The price of silver also faced upward pressure today. The price of 999 fine silver is Rs 239 per gram today, 10 grams of silver costs Rs 2,385 and 100 grams costs Rs 23,850. The price of one kilogram of silver is Rs 238,500. The rise in the price of 1 kg is Rs 1,230 today, marking a rise of 0.52%.
Gold price on MCX
In the futures market, gold is trading at Rs 155,100 per 10 grams. It marks a rise of Rs 594, or 0.39%. On MCX, gold hit a high of Rs 156,155, while its low was Rs 154,682. The previous closing price was Rs 154,506 per 10 grams. This piece of data indicates a robust rally in gold prices in the domestic futures market.
Silver also rose on MCX
The price of silver on MCX is Rs 237,492 per kg, which marks a rise of Rs 1,568, or 0.67%. During trading, silver reached a high of Rs 238,479, while the low was Rs 237,281. The previous closing price was Rs 235,924 per kg, which indicates the white metal has gained more than gold on MCX.
Gold and silver in the international market
Gold and silver are also trading higher in the international market too. Gold has reached $4453.70 per ounce on the US Comex exchange, up $16.40, or 0.37%. The yellow metal hit a high of $4473.20 and a low of $4422.30. On the other hand, Comex silver is trading at $65.79 per ounce, up $0.68, or 1.05%.
