New Delhi: New Zealand’s gun fielder Glenn Phillips took a sensational low catch to dismiss Jacob Bethell in the Super 8 match of the T20 World Cup 2026
against England at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Friday, February 27.
Chasing the 160-run target, the Three Lions got off to a poor start as Matt Henry dismissed Phil Salt for just two runs in the opening over, while Lockie Ferguson removed struggling Jos Buttler for a duck. Skipper Harry Brook then forged a 48-run partnership with Jacob Bethell for the third wicket.
Phillips first picked up a wicket of in-form batter Harry Brook for 26 runs in the eighth over, and then took a brilliant catch in the next over to dismiss Jacob Bethell for 21. Rachin Ravindra bowled a good-length delivery, and Bethell goes on the backfoot for a pull shot. Phillips dived forward at deep midwicket and took a great catch with two hands to get rid of Bethell.
