New Delhi: Hyundai Motor India has entered the commercial mobility space with the launch of two new taxi-focused cars, including Prime HB and Prime SD.
These models are aimed at taxi owners and fleet operators and are designed to be affordable to run, dependable, and suitable for high daily usage. Both the Prime HB and Prime SD will be sold in three colours, including Atlas White, Typhoon Silver, and Abyss Black.
Hyundai says the Prime range has been developed keeping long-distance and frequent driving in mind. To support this, the company is offering extended warranty plans that cover the fourth and fifth years or up to 1.8 lakh kilometres, whichever comes first. According to Hyundai, the running cost of these cars works out to around 47 paise per kilometre. Buyers can also choose flexible loan options with repayment periods of up to six years.

Both cars use a 1.2-litre Kappa four-cylinder engine and are offered with petrol and CNG options. The Prime HB hatchback is priced from Rs 5.99 lakh, while the Prime SD sedan starts at Rs 6.89 lakh (ex-showroom). Customers can book either model at Hyundai dealerships across India by paying a booking amount of Rs 5,000. In terms of fuel efficiency, the Prime SD claims a mileage of 28.40 km per kg on CNG, while the Prime HB offers 27.32 km per kg. These figures are likely to appeal to drivers who rely on fuel savings for better daily earnings.

Both models come with several standard safety and comfort features. These include six airbags, rear AC vents, power windows at the front and rear, electrically adjustable outside mirrors, steering-mounted controls, rear parking sensors, a rear defogger, central locking, an emergency stop signal, and three-point seatbelts for all passengers. A factory-fitted speed limiter set at 80 kmph is also standard. Some features, like rear adjustable headrests and keyless entry, are only available on the Prime HB.
Hyundai is also offering optional add-ons such as a 9-inch touchscreen system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a rearview camera, and a three-year warranty package. A vehicle tracking system with panic buttons is also available as an option.
