What is the story about?
New Delhi: Chief Justice of India Surya Kant on Thursday strongly questioned the Bar Council of India’s intervention in the NALSAR student protest, saying
the council had no role in interfering with a dialogue between students and him.
The remarks came as the Supreme Court agreed to hear NALSAR University of Law’s plea challenging two BCI circulars issued amid the controversy.
“BCI has nothing do with this. We are with you. Students have written a letter to me. It’s a dialogue between students and me. Who are they to unnecessarily issue a circular?” the CJI said.
This is a developing story.
