The film, which releases in theatres on January 23, 2026, began limited advance ticket sales on Sunday. Despite the restricted rollout, the response has been strong across major ticketing platforms. According to data shared by Bollywood Hungama from BookMyShow, Border 2 sold 8,280 tickets during this limited pre-sale phase. That figure has already put it ahead of Sikandar, which managed 5,720 tickets in a comparable window, despite enjoying substantial buzz last year.
Directed by Anurag Singh, Border 2 features a high-profile ensemble that includes Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty alongside Deol. The makers unveiled the film’s trailer last week, and industry insiders believe that the patriotic tone and star power are fuelling this early demand.
Trade circles are now watching closely to see how Border 2 stacks up against the biggest advance booking performers of 2025. War 2 still holds the record with 806,500 advance ticket sales on BookMyShow, followed by Chhaava at 777,000 and Saiyaara at 394,530. Other notable titles from the list include Dhurandhar, Housefull 5, Baaghi 4, Tere Ishk Mein, Sky Force, Thamma and Raid 2. While Border 2 is still in its early phase, its limited pre-sale performance suggests strong potential once bookings open nationwide.
