New Delhi: After a sharp decline in collections on its first Friday, Jana Nayagan has bounced back at the box office. The Vijay-starrer registered a healthy
jump in earnings on its third day, bringing the film within touching distance of the Rs 100 crore India net milestone despite receiving mixed-to-negative reviews.

According to Sacnilk, the political action thriller opened with Rs 42.70 crore on its first day. Collections fell by nearly 50 per cent on Friday, with the film earning Rs 21.15 crore. However, the trend improved on its first Saturday as the movie witnessed a 34.8 per cent jump, collecting Rs 28.50 crore across 12,299 shows.
With this, Jana Nayagan has taken its India net collection to Rs 92.35 crore, while the India gross stands at Rs 108.93 crore.
The film was initially slated for a January release but was postponed following delays in obtaining certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). It eventually arrived in theatres on July 23, 2026.
