New Delhi: Olympic gold medallist Abhinav Bindra recently reacted to the ongoing student protests in Delhi and across the country, calling for a better
education system for the youth. The protests led by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) at the Jantar Mantar in Delhi have gained traction across the nation.
The protest over the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak has gained nationwide support, with student organisations across the country stepping out onto the streets. The protests have led to demands of a fairer education system and examination structure, where merit is rewarded.
Bindra took to social media to express his support for the agitating students. Without taking a political position, India’s first individual Olympic gold medallist explained how the issue belongs to all and not just the youth. He also stressed that an education system that inspires confidence and rewards merit is one of the nation’s greatest strengths.
“I have never considered myself a political person. But I do believe that some issues belong to all of us, regardless of where we stand. Education is one of them,” Bindra wrote in his post on social media.
“The measure of a nation is found not only in its economy or its achievements, but in the opportunities it creates for its young people. An education system that inspires confidence, rewards merit and nurtures curiosity is one of a nation’s greatest strengths,” added the 2008 London Olympic gold medallist.
Urging the government to listen to the demands of the students, Bindra urged those in power to unite and work together to ensure a better future for the country.
“I hope we can all unite and work together to continually strengthen our education system, so that it remains a source of opportunity, innovation and hope for generations to come,” he wrote.
