New Delhi: BYD marked a major milestone in their global electrification pursuit with the as their 15 millionth new energy vehicle rolled out in the form
of the Denza N8L, at the Jinan factory in China on December 18th, 2025. The moment also marked the 15,000th unit of the Denza N8L to roll off the production line. Coming as a full-size, six-seater, premium SUV, the N8L highlights Denza’s focus on safety, technology and upmarket appeal.
The achievement comes on the back of a strong sales performance for BYD in 2025. Just between January and November, the brand sold 4.182 million vehicles globally, which makes for an 11.3 per cent year-on-year growth. Overseas markets have become their biggest spot for expansion, with international sales making up 917,000 units, going past BYD’s total overseas volume for the entire last year. At present, BYD’s EVs are present in more than 119 countries and regions across six continents.

BYD’s investment and performance in India
It is technology that is important to BYD’s strategy. In the first three quarters of 2025 alone, the company invested 43.75 billion yuan for the purpose of research and development, up 31 per cent from the previous year. Cumulative R&D spending has now gone past 220 billion yuan, reinforcing BYD’s long-term commitment to innovation.
The Denza has expanded across Asia, with the D9 emerging as the best-selling luxury MPV in markets such as Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia during the first half of the year.
With a growing presence in Europe and Latin America as well, Denza and BYD are increasingly positioning themselves as key players in the global shift towards electrified luxury mobility. In India, the brand sold only 425 units in the month of November 2025, going down from October’s 570 units. While this is a 25.44 per cent drop compared to November 2024, when the brand sold just 367 units, the figures do show a 15.80 per cent growth. At present, the brand sells Sealion 7, eMax 7, Atto 3 and Seal in India.
