New Delhi: McLaren have unveiled the JC96, a limited edition of the 750S that celebrated McLaren’s participation in the All-Japan Grand Touring Car Championship
of 1996. The racing team had taken the win in the Driver’s Championship in their fabled McLaren F1 GTR.
Three decades later, the occasion is being marked by the British luxury automobile manufacturer, with 61 a limited run available to customers in Japan. Each car will come with a unique “Tiger Stripe” livery that recalls the F1 GTR element. Even the interior details and ultra-lightweight 15-spoke forged alloy wheels are inspired by the race car.

On the outside, all 750S JC96 models will come with unique details on the front splitter, rear wing, and even the door mirror casings. Customers will have a choice to choose from a variety of colours, which include Ice White, Memphis Red, Titanium Silver and Graphite Grey. The company’s paint programme allows customers to choose even rarer colours.
The JC96 comes with gloss black elements on the roof and rear diffuser. There are gold brake callipers with a red McLaren logo that make up for the rest of the exterior design elements. On the side mirrors, it gets the JC96 emblem as well.

On the inside, there’s an Alcantara makeover treatment that has been given in the cabin, along with embroidered “JC96” branding on the headrest. It even has a gold plaque that celebrates the Driver’s Championship win with more gold elements that have been spread across the cabin, including on the pedals.
The JC96 can be ordered either as a coupe or the Spider version. In a first instance, McLaren have said that the Special Operations High Downforce Kit can be added to the open-top. This includes things like a larger splitter, an active rear spoiler and even a louvred under-wing panel. This should manage to give the car a 10 per cent more downforce than a standard 750S.
McLaren haven’t made any changes to the drivetrain, and it is still coming with a twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 that will be making 740 bhp and a torque of 800 Nm. All 750S come with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, and it will come with a top speed of 331 kph. It is likely to go out for deliveries from 2026 to mark the 30th anniversary.
