That was when Sindhu Kumari, a Rapido rider passing through the area, noticed the woman in distress and stopped to help. After speaking to her, Kumari learnt that the tourist was staying at Hotel Coconut Glove but was unable to locate it. Without hesitation, she offered assistance and asked the woman to sit on her bike.
Kumari later dropped the tourist safely to her hotel, even recording a short video after the ride that has since gone viral on social media. In the clip, the tourist can be seen visibly anxious at first, before breaking into a relieved smile upon reaching the hotel. Overcome with emotion, she hugged Kumari and repeatedly thanked her.
The foreign tourist reportedly offered money to Kumari as a gesture of gratitude, but the Rapido rider politely refused to accept it. The exact date of the incident and the tourist’s country of origin are not known.
As the video spread online, netizens flooded social media with praise for Kumari’s presence of mind and compassion. Many described her actions as an example of “Atithi Devo Bhava” — the Indian tradition of treating guests with respect and care.
“When apps fail, humanity steps up,” one user wrote, while another said, “This is the real India — quiet courage and basic kindness when it matters the most.”
