New Delhi: The residents of Delhi and Noida are likely to experience relief from the intense heatwave of the past few days, as the India Meteorological
Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for the region on Thursday, May 28.
With Delhi and Noida receiving an orange alert, a red alert has been issued for Gurugram and Faridabad in the coming hours, as thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are likely to hit multiple places across the region.
According to the IMD scientist Akhil Srivastava, with the disturbance in the Western Himalayan region and nearby plains, thunderstorm activity is likely to hit the region. This will bring major relief to several states, including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, and Madhya Pradesh, from the intense heatwave.
