Dehradun: Several rivers across Uttarakhand, including Ganga have reported swollen across Uttarakhand due to heavy rainfall. The incessant rain has also

The State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC) has said that as many as 109 roads across Uttarkhand for restoration purposes. Notably, officials have blocked Tyuni-Mussoorie-Maletha National Highway because of the landslide. The pedestrian route from Janakichatti to Yamunotri have also been damaged near Ram Mandir after the river swelled, news agency PTI reported.
The Ganga was flowing at 292.90 metres
Notably, the Ganga in the holy city of Haridwar was flowing at 292.90 metres. It was just 0.10 metres below the warning signal. It was also 1.10 metres below danger mark. Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers surpassed warning levels at Rudraprayag.
Apart from them, Alaknandariver recorded 626.18 metres as compared to the warning mark of 626 metres; the Kali River in Pithorgarh reached 888.90 metres. It was just 0.10 metres below warning level.
Officials urge people to stay indoors
Due to the weather situation acrosss the state, officials urged locals and tourists to stay indoors. They also urged residents staying in low-lying areas to move to safer places as part of the precautionary measure.
The officials have also suggested the suspension of Char Dham Yatra because of the incessant rain and landslides. They had earlier halted the pilgrimage on July 28 and 29, news agency PTI reported further The IMD had earlier issued issued orange alert for Thursday. It predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in Bageshwar, Nainital, Champawat and Pithoragarh districts. The authorities have also asked officials to stay on high alert.
