New Delhi: A reported full build ofForza Horizon 6has leaked online more than a week before its official launch, with early chatter pointing to a possible
preload mistake on Steam. The game is listed for a standard release on May 19, 2026, with Premium Edition early access set for May 15, 2026.
The leak has become a major talking point across gaming forums and social media after users claimed that an unencrypted version of the game’s files, reportedly around 155 GB, appeared online. Microsoft and Playground Games have not issued an official comment yet, so the full picture is still not clear.
Forza Horizon 6 files got leaked nearly 10 days before launch
Devs accidentally pushed the full game files through a Steam update and apparently forgot to encrypt the preload.

Forza Horizon 6 leak: What happened
The issue seems to be linked to the game’s Steam preload files. Usually, game studios allow buyers to download files a few days early, so they can start playing as soon as the game unlocks. Those files are normally encrypted, which means they cannot be opened before the official release time.
In this case, the claim is that Forza Horizon 6 Premium Edition files were uploaded without that lock. Once that happened, the files allegedly started spreading across piracy hubs and cracking forums. Some users also claimed that the game could already be launched and played before the release window.
Why players should avoid the leaked build of FH6
There is a clear risk here. Unofficial game files can be modified by unknown people before they are shared online. That means players may end up downloading malware, stolen files, or broken game builds instead of the actual game.
News9live does not recommend or promote pirated game downloads or unofficial activation methods.
This is not the first major preload-related leak this year. Death Stranding 2 reportedly faced a similar Steam issue in March, when around 113 GB of files appeared online before release.
Official release dates remain unchanged
For regular buyers, Forza Horizon 6 is still scheduled to launch on May 19, 2026. Premium Edition owners are expected to get early access from May 15, 2026.
For now, the safer move is to wait for the official release and avoid unofficial downloads. The leak may have created a lot of noise, but until Playground Games or Microsoft comments on it, this remains an unconfirmed preload mishap with serious piracy and safety concerns.
