Zomato users can now order food from restaurants located up to 40 kilometres away, thanks to a new feature called Limitless Delivery. The food delivery
company announced the service on Thursday, November 5, expanding the number of restaurants customers can access through its app. This means someone living in one part of a city could order from a favourite restaurant located on the other side of town.
The feature is now available in seven Indian cities, including Delhi NCR, Mumbai and Bengaluru. Previously, Zomato largely showed restaurants located near the customer’s delivery address. The new service increases that distance to 40 kilometres, potentially bringing several well-known restaurants into the delivery range.

Which cities have Zomato’s 40 km delivery service?
According to the company’s official announcement, Limitless Delivery is currently available in seven cities:
- Delhi NCR
- Mumbai
- Bengaluru
- Chennai
- Kolkata
- Pune
- Hyderabad
Zomato has not announced when the feature will expand to other Indian cities.
How to order food from restaurants 40 km away on Zomato?
Customers can access the new service directly through the Zomato app.
The company has introduced a dedicated shortcut under the Explore More section on the homepage. This section displays restaurants that have become accessible through the expanded delivery range.
Users can search for a specific restaurant and place an order through the usual process.
Aditya Mangla, CEO of Zomato, said, “People often have favourite restaurants that aren’t close to where they live. With Limitless Delivery, customers can now order from restaurants up to 40 km away. It’s a simple way to make more of the city’s restaurants accessible to more people.”

Will food delivery take longer or cost more?
This is where some questions remain unanswered.
Delivering food across 40 kilometres could involve longer travel times, particularly in traffic-heavy cities such as Bengaluru, Mumbai and Delhi.
Zomato has not specified whether Limitless Delivery orders will carry additional delivery charges, minimum order requirements or different delivery time limits.
The company has not explained whether special arrangements will be made to maintain food temperature during longer deliveries.
What does this mean for restaurants and delivery partners?
The expanded delivery range could help restaurants reach customers living farther away, particularly businesses known for specific dishes.
For delivery partners, longer routes could mean more travel time and greater fuel expenses. Zomato has not disclosed whether riders will receive different compensation for these orders.
The feature is live from November 5, with actual restaurant availability depending on the customer’s location and the options displayed in the app.
