What is the story about?
New Delhi: Delhi’s Air Quality Index (AQI) soared to 391 in the early hours of Sunday, December 28, reported by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).
The capital remained shrouded in dense fog and intense cold conditions, which reduced visibility across the region.
Several areas, including Anand Vihar, Akshardham, India Gate, and others, reached the 445 mark, placing the regions in the ‘Severe’ category, according to the CPCB. Anand Vihar recorded an AQI of 445, whereas Dwarka recorded 380. ITO’s AQI is at 402.
GRAP-IV back in action
After the worsening weather, the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP)-IV implemented two restrictions, confirmed by Delhi Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa.
