The ₹30,000 crore-plus IPO, India’s largest public issue by size, attracted approximately 1.35 crore applications during its three-day subscription window
from October 21 to 23. The figures underline the scale of investor interest in Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries’ digital services business, which operates India’s largest telecom network and has expanded into broadband, cloud services and artificial intelligence.
Jio IPO sees record demand from investors
The final figures shared with News9Live suggest that Jio’s public issue attracted demand far exceeding the shares available for subscription.
Here are the key numbers.
| IPO details | Reported figures |
|---|---|
| IPO size | Around ₹30,200 crore |
| Overall subscription | Over 18 times |
| Demand excluding anchors | Over ₹4 lakh crore |
| Demand including anchors | Over ₹6.5 lakh crore |
| Total applications | Approximately 1.35 crore |
| Subscription period | October 21 to 23, 2026 |
The application count is particularly significant. Earlier on Friday, Moneycontrol reported that Jio had crossed one crore applications, surpassing the previous reported record of around 97 lakh applications received by Waaree Energies.
Institutional investors show strong interest
Jio had already attracted substantial institutional interest before opening its IPO to the public.
The company raised approximately ₹8,110 crore from 212 anchor investors on October 19. These included domestic and international institutional investors.
The strong demand came despite the issue’s size, which made it one of the most closely watched market events of 2026.
What happens after the Jio IPO closes?
Jio Platforms’ shares are scheduled to list on the BSE and NSE on October 28, with allotment expected on October 26.
The listing will give investors a publicly traded stake in Reliance’s telecom and digital services business.
Attention will now shift to share allotments, the final issue price and Jio’s stock market debut. The subscription figures indicate strong investor interest, though they do not guarantee gains once trading begins.
