New Delhi: ChatGPT Futures, a new initiative by OpenAI has recognised 26 students and teams of recent graduates, for innovative and practical applications
of AI across disciplines. The students have been selected from more than 20 institutions including Vanderbilt, the University of Toronto, Oxford and Georgia tech. The honourees used AI to address concrete needs, including creating study aids for peers, translating mental health materials for underserved groups, supporting scientific research and developing accessibility features for students with disabilities. Several of the awardees have turned academic side projects into functional organisations.
The class of 2026 represents the first cohort of students to complete their college education with widespread access to generative AI. These recent graduates entered campuses in 2022, just as large language models became available. These graduates integrated AI into learning, problem-solving and project development from the start.
