New Delhi: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Friday said that economic safety, as well as more economic activities within BRICS will help in strength
reliance among countries. He also stressed on the focus on strengthening business partnerships.
Speaking at the BRICS Business Forum, the minister observed that the common objective is to help member countries find business partners and access to markets.

“The common thread is how to make it easier for businesses in our countries to find more partners, access more markets, connect supply networks and convert complementarities into viable commercial partnerships. For BRICS particularly, higher economic activity and higher economic security mean greater self-reliance. The objective is to strengthen our ability to absorb shocks while remaining connected and competitive,” Jaishankar said as per ANI.
He added, “That calls for genuine market practices, dependable logistics, a predictable business environment, diversified commercial relationships, and transparent trade and investment. It also calls for energy systems capable of coping with disruption and transition pathways that are suited to different national circumstances.”
Jaishankar meets Prince Rahim Aga Khan V
The minister also met Prince Rahim Aga Khan V. During the meeting both discussed the social development and heritage preservation by the Aga Khan Development Network (AKND), also discussed further opportunities. Prince Rahim Aga Khan V is the 50th Imam of the Ismaili Muslims.
“Pleased to meet His Highness Prince Rahim Aga Khan V. Discussed the impactful work in social development & heritage preservation by the Aga Khan Development Network @akdn, and further opportunities in India and abroad,” Jaishankar posted on X.
Earlier, Prince Rahim Aga Khan V also met President Droupadi Murmu at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. On Thursday, he met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Among other areas, the PM and Prince Rahi Aga Khan discussed India’s partnership with the AKDN in agriculture and rural development.
