New Delhi: Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor’s latest sports drama, Peddi, has finally been released on Netflix after its theatrical run. The film’s OTT version
has been released with some extra scenes, which were removed for its theatrical release. Directed by Buchi Babu, the movie is available to watch in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.
What’s new in the extra scenes of Peddi?
As per reports, Netflix has restored several scenes that were removed before the film’s theatrical release due to its lengthy runtime. The OTT version also reportedly includes portions that were cut after the movie began its theatrical run, including Janhvi Kapoor’s controversial scenes that had been deleted from the cinema version.
Peddi plot
Ram Charan plays the main character, Peddi, a daily wage worker who goes to Vizianagaram every day for his job. Even with his simple background, Peddi is a naturally talented cricket player. He can hit six sixes in six balls. Also, the cricket teams of Vizianagaram and Bobbili fight with each other in auctions to buy him for their own sides. People call him a “match labourer” because of his cricket skills. But, the story changes when Peddi leaves cricket behind and becomes a wrestler instead. The reason for this change is the main point of the movie’s story.

Meanwhile, Janhvi Kapoor plays the part of Achchiyamma. Her character’s link to Peddi and the village forms a key thread running through the story. Also, the main question the movie looks at is what Peddi does for his village and its people. The story mixes village life, sport, and fairness for people into one single story.

Buchi Babu, who previously made the highly praised Telugu movie Uppena, brings a real feel to the storytelling in Peddi too.
Fans who watched the movie in theaters can watch it again on Netflix for its extra scenes. Those who missed the theater run, can now watch the full version for the first time on Netflix.
