New Delhi: Global icon Priyanka Chopra is now set to star in upcoming sci-fi action thriller Bluefly alongside Oscar-winning actor Russell Crowe. Directed
by Nimród Antal, known for films such as Predators and episdes of Stranger Things, the film has been written by David Frigerio, William Eubank, and Carlyle Eubank.
The film is another addition in Priyanka Chopra‘s growing international film slate. The project will also bring together an ensemble cast for the film.
Priyanka Chopra joins Russel Crowe for Bluefly
Priyanka Chopra made the announcement about the film on Instagram and wrote, “Onto the next.”
According to deadline, director Nimrod Antal described Bluefly as “an intense, character driven thriller wrapped inside a bold science fiction premise. It’s the kind of film I live to make, grounded, propulsive, and full of dread, and I couldn’t ask for a better cast or team to bring it to the screen.”
What is the storyline of Bluefly?
Set in the dense landscape of Congo, Bluefly follows the story of a grieving United Nations translator who becomes involved in a secret military mission to recover a mysterious aircraft that officially does not exist.
As a Special Operations team travels through dangerous militia-controlled territory, their mission takes an unexpected turn. What begins as a recovery operation soon becomes a fight for survival. The team uncovers that the aircraft holds secrets they were never meant to uncover.

Bluefly is produced by Michael Jefferson for Polite Society, David Frigerio for Broken Open Pictures, Deborah Glover for G2 Dispatch, Arianne Fraser and Delphine Perrier for Highland Film Group, along with Vanessa Yao Gua.
The Principal Photography is expected to begin later this year on Australia’s Gold Coast.

Priyanka Chopra will be next seen in SS Rajamouli’s film, Varanasi, where she essays the role of Mandakini. The film also stars Mahesh Babu. She also has survival thriller Reset opposite Orlando Bloom.
