Kolkata: Tata Capital IPO is supposed to be the biggest issue of this year. The excitement about the issue was heightened when there was a scramble among
anchor investors, who made a beeline to pick up the shares of this NBFC arm of the Tata Group. The issue witnessed about five time the applications from anchor investors who cumulatively chipped in with a total of Rs 4,642 crore. As many as 68 domestic and global institutional investors put in their money and the list included LIC, ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund (MF), Nippon India MF, Motilal Oswal MF, Amansa Holdings, Nomura, Morgan Stanley, Government Pension Fund Global and Goldman Sachs.

Tata Capital GMP has been slipping over the past few days. On the morning of October 8, the last day of the bidding process, Tata Capital IPO GMP is languishing at Rs 6, which indicates a listing gain of 1.84% considering a price band of Rs 326. According to investorgain, the GMP slipped to Rs 7 on October 7. However, it must be remembered that GMP is an unofficial indicator that changes with time and cannot guarantee a listing gain or loss.
The Tata Capital IPO GMP track record has been rather lacklustre. It was at Rs 7.5 on the morning to Monday, October 6, the first day of bidding. The GMP declined steadily from Rs 30 on September 26. According to investorgain, the GMP were as follows: Rs 20 (om September 27), Rs 28 (September 28), Rs 27 (September 29), Rs 22 (September 30), Rs 20 (October 2), Rs 13 (October 3), Rs 9 (October 4) before settling at Rs 7.5 on October 5, 2025. However, it must be remembered that GMP is an unofficial indicator that changes with time and cannot guarantee a listing gain or loss.
Tata Capital IPO subscription status, price band, lot size
Till the close of day two, Tata Capital IPO was subscribed 0.75 times — 0.68 times in the retail category, 0.86 times in QIB (Ex Anchor) and 0.76 times in the NII category.
The Tata Capital issue consists of both fresh shares and OFS — 21.00 crore fresh shares and 26.58 crore OFS shares. The price band is Rs 310-326. Retail investors have to bid for a minimum of 46 shares. This lot will cost him/her Rs 14,996 as application money at the upper end of the price band.
Tata Capital shares will be allotted on October 9 and the listing of shares will happen on October 13 in both NSE and BSE. The lead manager of the IPO is Kotak Mahindra Capital while MUFG Intime India has been appointed the registrar to the issue.
