Washington: US President Donald Trump on Thursday denied reports that certain types of missiles have been exhausted in the Iran conflict. His statement
came amid reports that ATACMS, PrSM missiles have been exhausted in the war against Tehran in recent times.
Taking to Truth Social, the US President maintained that the US had a massive amount, especially of ‘certain types’. He added that a large number of missiles and weapons are being manufactured and sent to the US.
What Trump wrote on Truth Social?
“The US has massive amounts of ‘munitions,’ especially of certain types. Additionally, large amounts are being manufactured and shipped to the U.S. as needed. Defense companies are building the largest number of plants and factories in our country’s history. The ‘leakers’ of these treasonous statements are being hunted down. Long-termntences will be sought!,” he wrote.
Earlier, news agency Reuters had quoted officials as saying that the US virtually used ATACMS, and Precision Strike Missiles against Iran. Earlier, CBS News too had reported that the US has decreasing stockpiles of weapons and long-range, leading to tensions with the Trump administration.
What CSIS report say in July?
As per a port by the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in July, before the war started, the US had 2,330 Patriots. However, by the end of July, it had between 759 and 827 of them. While before the war, the US had 452 THAAD interceptors, by July 27, it had between 234 and 278 of them.
Meanwhile, Trump said that the deal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz could come by Wednesday, as Iran and Oman moved closer to a pact on the vital waterway, which help in easing the world economy. In February this year, the US and Israel jointly launched strikes on Iran, leading to tensions in the Middle East.
