of which, the desert saga of Dune: Part Three has finally gathered momentum. On Tuesday (March 17), the makers unveiled a series of first-look posters, offering fans an exciting glimpse at the film’s returning stars and new additions.
The upcoming instalment continues the epic adaptation of Frank Herbert’s iconic universe and is already generating major buzz among fans worldwide.
Zendaya and Timothee return, Robert Pattinson joins Dune 3
The posters confirm the return of several key actors from the earlier films. Timothee Chalamet will once again portray Paul Atreides, while Zendaya reprises her role as Chani. Other returning cast members include Rebecca Ferguson as Lady Jessica, Javier Bardem as Stilgar, Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan and Anya Taylor-Joy as Alia Atreides.

The biggest surprise, however, is the addition of Robert Pattinson to the franchise. The new posters confirm that Pattinson will play the villainous Scytale, a mysterious antagonist expected to shake up the story’s political power dynamics.

Fans were also excited to see the return of Jason Momoa as Duncan Idaho. The character previously died in Dune, making his comeback in the third instalment one of the most intriguing plot developments.
What is the story of Dune 3?
The film will adapt Dune Messiah, the second novel in Herbert’s celebrated sci-fi series. The story takes place around 12 years after the events of Dune: Part Two. By this time, Paul Atreides has fully embraced his role as Emperor, navigating the dangerous politics of a galaxy shaped by his rise to power.
The new posters also hint that certain characters will receive larger roles than before. Alia Atreides, previously seen briefly in a vision, appears far more central to the unfolding narrative. Similarly, Princess Irulan’s storyline is expected to expand significantly as the political consequences of her marriage to Paul become more prominent.
Director Denis Villeneuve returns to helm the third chapter after the critical and commercial success of the earlier films.
Dune: Part Three is scheduled to arrive in theatres worldwide on December 18.
