New Delhi: Advance sales in the US are offering an early glimpse of the box-office expectations surrounding Ramayana: Rise of a Legend. The upcoming epic,
starring Ranbir Kapoor, Yash and Sai Pallavi, has reportedly generated $317,900 in premiere pre-sales, with around 16,012 tickets sold, according to early figures shared by Films Discourse.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film still has close to three weeks before its worldwide release, leaving room for its North American advance bookings to grow further. Trade observers will be watching to see whether the pre-sales can move beyond the $1 million mark as the release approaches.
Ramayana: Rise of a Legend US advance booking update
The film reportedly collected more than $150,000 in US premiere pre-sales during its first 24 hours of bookings. That figure has since more than doubled, taking the total beyond $300,000. Average ticket prices are said to be close to $20, although discounts of $7 are available through platforms such as Fandango.
Premium screenings may also be helping lift the early numbers. The report points to formats such as IMAX and 3D as possible contributors to the film’s premiere sales.
New trailers add momentum to the film
The latest advance-booking figures have emerged after the makers released fresh trailers and promotional footage. The visuals offer glimpses of large-scale battle sequences involving Ravana and Indra, as well as Rama and the demonic forces he faces.
With the release date drawing closer, the final weekend could bring another rise in pre-sales if more screenings become available. The number of shows and audience demand in the coming days will be important indicators of how the film is shaping up for its opening.
When will Ramayana advance bookings open in India?
Advance bookings in India are scheduled to begin on October 20, coinciding with the Dussehra festivities. The domestic response will provide another indication of audience interest in the ambitious epic ahead of its worldwide release.
