Honey Singh viral video controversy: Rapper and music producer Yo Yo Honey Singh has issued a public apology after facing criticism over a remark made
during a recent performance in Delhi. The comment, delivered on stage at Nanku-Karun’s concert, quickly went viral and sparked backlash for its explicit language.
Viewers online called the statement inappropriate, prompting Singh to clarify his intent and express regret.
What did Honey Singh say at the concert?
During the performance, Honey Singh urged members of the audience to engage in sexual activity in their cars due to the cold weather. While the remark was meant as a casual aside, it did not land well with many. Social media users flagged the language as irresponsible, especially given the young crowd present at the event.
Following the controversy, the Party All Night singer addressed the issue through a video statement shared on his Instagram account.
Yo Yo Honey Singh issues apology
In the video, he apologised and explained the context behind his words. “I was just a guest on the show and about two days before the concert, I had lunch with some gynaecologists and some sexologists. I was talking to them and they told me that the young generation is suffering a lot from sexually transmitted diseases,” Singh said.
He went on to explain that the discussion with medical professionals stayed with him ahead of the concert. According to the singer, unsafe sexual practices among young adults were a serious concern raised during that conversation. Reflecting on that advice, he added, “This thing is going on and a lot of people are having unsafe sex. So when I went to this show, when I saw the Gen Z audience, I thought that I should give a message to Gen Z in their language that you should not have unprotected sex, use a condom.”

Honey Singh acknowledged, however, that his approach did not work for everyone. Addressing the backlash directly, he admitted that his choice of words crossed a line for many listeners. “But I thought that in the language of OTT, the kind of OTT and films that Gen Z is watching these days, if I talk in that language, they will understand more. But many people found that language very bad. I apologise to all of you who found my language bad. I had no intention of insulting anyone,” he said.
The rapper continued his apology by accepting responsibility for the moment. “And man is a puppet of mistakes. I will try not to make such mistakes again after today. I will control my language when I say something and who I will say it to and how I will say it. And I will be careful that this thing can be edited and made viral in a wrong way. So anyway, I apologise to all of you.”
