New Delhi: As the festive season approaches, Jiohotstar is taking the Bigg Boss to an unprecedented scale. For the first time in its history, six editions
of the reality show will premiere simultaneously, bringing audiences from across India together under one launch. The new seasons will begin rolling out from September 2026 on JioHotstar.
Bigg Boss will return with familiar faces on the show. Salman Khan will once again host the Hindi edition, while Vijay Sethupati, Nagarjuna, Kichcha Sudeepa and Mohanlal will lead the Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam versions, respectively. Adding a fresh twist this year, former India cricket captain Sourav Ganguly will make his Bigg Boss debut as the host of the Bangla edition.
A franchise that keeps getting bigger
Over the years, Bigg Boss has grown far beyond being just a reality show. According to JioStar, the franchise reached over 500 million viewers in 2025 across its six language editions and recorded more than 438 billion viewing minutes.
Audience engagement also saw a significant boost, increasing by 47 per cent year-on-year. The franchise partnered with over 625 brands across 46 categories, including 49 first-time advertisers, reflecting its growing appeal among marketers.
On JioHotstar, the show’s 24×7 live feed remained a major attraction, with six out of every 10 viewers tuning in to follow the contestants beyond the daily episodes.
A book that captures Bigg Boss phenomenon
The newly launched India’s Bigg Reality offers a behind-the-scenes look at how Bigg Boss evolved into one of India’s biggest entertainment shows. Featuring audience insights, data and brand case studies, the book explores how the show has shaped pop culture while becoming a powerful platform for advertisers.
It also highlights several innovative brand collaborations, including Snack and Snack’s drone delivery activation, Vaseline-themed tasks, the branded elevator, and the Spy Kuttan robot, showcasing how brands have found creative ways to connect with viewers through the show.
Speaking about, Mahesh Shetty, Head of Entertainment Sales, TV, JioStar, said Bigg Boss has continuously improved itself over the past two decades by growing in scale, engagement and cultural relevance. He added that launching six editions together marks the big boss’ biggest celebration yet, while the coffee table book documents how the show has become both a cultural and business success story.
Bhaskar Ramesh, Head of Entertainment Sales, Digital, JioStar, said the reality show continues to bring together massive audiences during the festive season through its 24×7 live feed, audience voting and interactive features. He noted that this deep engagement gives brands an opportunity to connect with viewers in more meaningful ways.
Fans remain at the heart of the show
Viewer participation continues to be one of the biggest powers of bigg boss. During 2025, audiences cast more than 9.32 billion votes and exchanged 43 million live chats on JioHotstar, with nearly three out of four viewers interacting with the show beyond simply watching it.
The buzz extended beyond television. JioStar said Bigg Boss generated over 1.7 billion social media engagements and inspired nearly 30 million user-generated memes, making it one of the most talked-about entertainment properties in the country.
The network also revealed that the franchise now reaches over 200 million viewers in Hindi-speaking markets and more than 300 million viewers across southern India, where eight out of every 10 television viewers engage with the show. According to JioStar, Bigg Boss‘ reach in the South is 3.5 times higher than all other reality shows in the region combined, underlining its enduring popularity across languages.
