RCB Crush CSK in IPL 2026 Thriller

New Delhi: Defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru bludgeoned Chennai Super Kings into submission in a 43-run victory for their second successive

win in IPL 2026.

In a punishing display of pinch-hitting, RCB smashed 250 for three, this edition’s highest score, after being sent into bat at the M Chinnaswamy stadium.

Five-time champions CSK to never looked like coming anywhere near their target, managing 207 runs in 19.4 overs to slump to a hat-trick of losses.

Phil Salt (46), Virat Kohli (28), Devdutt Padikkal (50) set up a platform for Tim David (70) and skipper Rajat Patidar (48) to unleash mayhem in the last 10 overs.

David and Patidar added 99 runs in 35 balls as RCB put on 97 runs in the last five overs for a gigantic score that made CSK bowlers hapless in Bengaluru.

Padikkal put together two crucial partnerships 56 (37b) with Phil Salt for the second wicket and 58 (21b) for the third wicket with Patidar.

It set up David to throw his bat at everything as in his 25-ball knock he struck three boundaries and eight sixes. Patidar matched him with a boundary and six sixes in his 19-ball stay at the crease.

Patidar carted Khaleel Ahmed for two sixes and a four in his fourth and final over while David sent Noor Ahmad for three sixes in the 17th over.

Aussie David was sever on Jamie Overton as he struck fout sixes, including three on the trot, in 19th over.

Though CSK crossed the 200-run mark in their chase, they didn’t threaten RCB for a moment, though Sarfaraz Khan (50), Prashant Veer (43) and Jami Overton (37) tried their best.

But once they were reduced to 30 for three inside three overs, including the key wicket of Sanju Samson (9), realistically it was all over for CSK.

For RCB, veteran Bhuvneshwar Kumar (3/41) became the first seamer, and second bowler after Yuzvendra Chahal to claim 200 wickets in the tournament’s history.
