New Delhi: Mumbai police have been discovering a dead body every two days in the past two weeks, as the officials found six bodies in 16 days in the Vasai-Virar
Municipal Corporation area near Mumbai.
It all started with Mumbai police discovered a decomposed body of a woman in Shirvali, Virar East, on March 21. Officials began the investigation and found out that the woman’s husband killed her, along with his accomplice. Later on, officials detained him and took him into custody.
Two days later, a six-year-old girl was found inside a well in Nalasopara on March 23. Officials haven’t investigated the exact cause of the girl’s death yet.
On March 26, the decapitated body of a man was recovered from the area. This time, the police solved the murder mystery within a few hours and arrested the accused as well.
The family of the victim received closure, and officials also revealed that the killing was over a financial dispute between the two individuals.
Following these three murders, police discovered two more dead bodies- an unidentified woman and another individual. The unidentified woman’s body was recovered from a drain near D-mart. Police are trying to identify the bodies.
Most recent body was found on Mumbai-Ahmedabad Highway
The most recent dead body was found on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Highway on Sunday evening, April 5. The male body is still unidentified, as the decomposed body was discovered in a pile of garbage near Virar Phata.
Officials have sent the body for a post-mortem and are still figuring out whether the body is that of a man or not. Police described the unidentified dead body as an individual with a white beard who was killed or died in an accident.
By seeing one dead body after another, citizens are complaining about the lack of CCTV cameras on the highway and in deserted places. Police are investigating based on the missing persons complaints and trying to unravel the unknown bodies.
